The Pawar Public School is managed by the Pawar Public charitable trust, which is an organization that focuses on the needs of the less privileged  sections of the society. As a part of the trust’s mission of serving the community  at large, the trust has started an ICSE school at Bhandup, Mumbai in 2006.
This school at Bhandup, is the flagship school of the Pawar Public Charitable Trust. The Pawar Public School, Pune is the second school of the trust which commenced in March 2008. The third school at Kandivli West, Mumbai commenced in March 2010, followed by fourth, an ICSE school in Chandivali, Mumbai.
Two New schools are now added to Pune. The Hinjewadi Branch of PPS began functioning in June 2012. A new branch at Nanded City on Sinhagad Road will begin in June 2012.

This school is dedicated to provide all round development to the child and not merely follow a textbook oriented approach. The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. The medium of instruction at the School is English.

Philosophy

We believe that education is a lifelong process of searching for knowledge and our aim is to instill in every child this quest for knowledge. Our aim is to teach, help the child question diligently and prepare him / her through Creative Problem soluving and critical thinking assignments to seek the right answer! The ultimate aim of an integrated learning process is to uplift the word ‘Educate’ from the narrow confines of Languages, Mathematics, Sciences etc. and take it to a different level where it can define a way of life!

Teaching Methodology

Activity based teachinglearning process:-

Extensive use is made of audio-visual techniques, computer-aided learning, visual aids, charts, models, games, role plays, art, LCD’s, worksheets, etc., to stimulate the learning process and make it more significant. project is carried out for some part of the syllabus.

The school also maintains its own botanical garden, with a large number of different species of plants and tress. Students have classified the trees systematically, so each plant has a scientific name and details about uses of the plants. A vegetable garden and a vermiculture pit has been developed by students, with assistance from experts. Students get a chance to harvest the vegetables and take them home, turn by turn.

About The Parent Organization

      The trust is involved in work aimed at the upliftment of the nomadic tribal communities by imparting basic level of education to them. In addition, the trust also extends its support in the form of sponsorship for various programs for educational institutions like the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, which fosters the unique concept of ‘earn & learn’.

Co-curricular Activities

At PPS we strongly believe the pursuit of the fine arts and sports enhance academic performance. Whilst activities like Carom, Chess, Table-Tennis, Badminton, Skating, Athletics, Gymnastics, Basket Ball etc stimulate the thought process, fine arts like Dance, Music (Vocal and Instrumental) or Drama, give the students’ personality a new dimension. School activities & functions will be aimed at providing a platform for the students to perform before an audience at least once per academic year.

Newspaper in education NIE :

NIE is introduced from Class III up to Class VIII. This is to help the child develop the habit of reading the newspaper and also increases his knowledge of the outside world. Young Buzz is supplied by a leading newspaper, every Friday and distributed to the students.Parents please read together with your child, solve puzzles, appreciate their paintings and send your child’s paintings to the newspaper or to our Art teacher to publish in Young Buzz.

Infrasructure

At PPS are committed to provide the best in terms of environment conducive to the intellectual, moral, cultural and physical growth of every student.

  • All our classroom are big,Well lit and airy to facilitate the learning process.
  • Our Computer Laboratories houses the latest PC’s with TFT monitors, with one machine per child to enable every child to get hands-on experience.
  • A Multipurpose auditorium, equipped for sports activities as well as theatrical performances and a fully equipped audio-visual room serves as a platform for the student to exhibit their talent and also helps us enhance the process of education with the use of audio-visual aids.
  • A Dance Room with wooden flooring and mirror on walls reflects the efforts of the young dancers while the Music Room, will bear testimony to the efforts of our future Tansens.
  • For the students of the pre-primary section we have a special Activity Area and a Toy Room which is the centre of attraction for them.
  • A fully equipped Medical Room with 3 beds is managed by a trained nurse who are available to take care of the medical needs of the students and staff while at school.
  • State of Art Library housing more than 11000 Books (include World Book Series, Time Life Series of Books and hundreds of Reference Books) in three languages viz English, Hindi, Marathi, Maps & Charts, CD’s and E- Learning systems with digital boards.

All our classes our digitally equipped with Smart Boards, laptops with contents according to the ICSE syllabus. Teachers can enhance the contents by uploading information on the server and viewing it in class. Classrooms become interactive with quizzes, questions, video clips pertaining to the topic in consideration and much more.
